Over the last two years I've tried all the varieties of Legere Reeds for tenor saxophone. The Signature has become my favorite. I can get much more expressive playing on this reed. I do like the the French Cut when I want a softer, but fatter sound, ( say classical music) and the American Cut when I need to push hard over an amplified band. ( I don't amplify my horn, I have no problem filling a large room- provided the reed can keep up) But the Signature really does do everything well. Once it's on the mouthpiece, I don't think about reeds anymore. If you are new to Legere, or on a one reed at a tme budget, the Signature will not disappoint.

Performing in Northern Virginia area my ensemble and solo performance opportunities extend into D.C., Maryland, and Virginia venues. Often I am required to switch from/to Soprano, Tenor, Alto, Clarinet or Bass Clarinet. LeGere reeds eliminate the fear of a dry reed "solo" squeak. Once I found the LeGere reed that "fit" each mouthpiece those "solos" became a thing of the past. What helps greatly is that the uniformity of reed strengths makes replacing a reed easy. Each LeGere reed plays uniformly in each of the instrument's ranges. The ease of "one-time" replacement policy is another great benefit of using LeGere reeds; also beneficial for reducing reed-storage clutter. What's not to like?

My most recent invoice was just shy of free delivery so I thought that rather than pay for shipping I would buy a case tag. What I found was that this colourful tag is very eye catching and it draws attention away from my case not mention that I am also personalizing my gear. Then there is the motto - Freedom to Perform- which speaks volumes. All in all, it is a good conversation piece.
