The most comfortable, stable, and articulate clarinet reed Légère produces. The European Cut for Bb Clarinet is wider than the Signature with a shorter vamp and a band of material down the spine. This reed is recommended for players of all levels though it is too wide for most German mouthpieces.

I Like These, but what do I know?

I’m 73, and have about 35 years of experience playing in community bands after I got out of college. But, strictly amateur (well I did get paid about $20 a season in one band). I really like that I put the reed on my clarinet and play it. I don’t have anywhere near the amount of fiddling around that I used to do with cane reeds. I like that when I’m playing outdoor concerts I don’t have to worry about the reed drying out if there is a long winded presentation (think Memorial Day). These reeds are an expensive up front investment, but they last a really long time. I rotate a pair of them and might go more than 6 months before I buy a replacement, so they end up being cheaper than the cane reeds I used to buy. I don’t feel qualified to give a recommendation on sound quality, but they sure work for me.

Absolutely amazing!

My marching band students love this product! They sound clearer and are easy to adjust from traditional reeds. Overall, this is the best investment we made for our band this year!

Thank you for the thoughtful and detailed review, we appreciate your comments!

A Good Reed

The reed is usable and I like the idea of putting a reed on that is ready from the start. Probably for me I need to try a reed that is a half size up.

Thanks for the kind review!

Synthetic My Preferred Option

I so love the Legere synthetic reeds. I'm enjoying the European cut though am just testing out the French cut. I love that you don't have to moist it first like traditional reeds and they synthetics last so much longer than traditional reeds.

Amazing products!

I absolutely love performing on my Legere European Cut clarinet reeds for both Bb and Eb. I live and perform in Colorado where the dryness and elevation can wreak havoc on traditional cane reeds and the consistency and performance of the Legere brand solves all my cane headaches. I love when my clarinet friends tell me I sound amazing and “what’s my setup” and I show them I’ve “gone synthetic” and they are shocked and curious at the same time. Highly recommend everyone give these a try!
