The American Cut represents the next-generation of Légère saxophone reeds. From the first note, the reed speaks with total ease while giving players just the right amount of tonal edge. It is effortlessly free-blowing, colorful, and loaded with personality.

The American Cut’s distinct profile is what gives players a full, clear low register and vibrant altissimo.

Blown Away

I was honestly shocked at how much I loved these reeds. I took the plunge and took the risk after hearing great things from the musicians and I was expecting to hate them but as soon as I tried them, I couldn’t get enough of them and I ordered one for each of my three saxophones! I am fully converted to these reeds and the fact they are made in Canada is the icing on the cake!! keep up the good work guys!

Quick response when playing notes. No change in performance whether it is cold or humid. No scraping or clipping reeds as I have always had to do with may cane reeds.

American Cut Legere reeds on Alto and Tenor

I've been using the American Cut reeds on both alto and tenor for over 2 years. My first impression was - WOW! This is like the old days when buying a box of cane reeds and finding the one "amazing" reed that played great. Legere reeds have all been great for me - good response and tone over the full range of my horns - even altissimo. I am so happy to have more time playing instead of searching and adjusting. Also, another benefit is being able to switch between alto and tenor with having to be concerned about a cane reed drying out.

American Cut is my choice

I have been playing the American Cut 2.25 on my Alto and have been very impressed with the sound and response. I have been wanting to get my Tenor going again but have always been hesitant because I haven’t been able to play it with the same ease as the alto. I bought the American Cut 2.25 and put it on my Berg Larson 90/1 and it has been playing great with ease and the response I want and expect. I have experimented with many synthetic and cane reeds but I keep coming back to the American Cut for both practice and performances.

Perfect for bass clarinet

I love the tenor sax american cut for bass clarinet better than I like any of the other bass clarinet reeds I've tried (european, classic, and signature)
