I am picking up after a break in playing, and I did not find the currently available cane reeds to be as consistent as in the ancient past (played on V12’s forever). I was pleasantly impressed when I used the Legere, as I had always been a skeptic about synthetic reeds (back from the days of “plastic” reeds). I’ve filled out my reed holder with a few more, and whenever these do wear out, I will likely buy some more. I’ve also recently tried a few other synthetic brands for comparison, but they haven’t had quite the right feel. However, Legere reeds play like old-school broken-in cane reeds, right out of the box.
Excellent sound.I love the fit on my Vandoren Crystal mouthpiece.
Best reed by far
I got a French cut for alto sax and clarinet. What a significant improvement over the euro cut, so happy to have these to teach lessons all day!!
I have been using the Legere Reeds Signature Cut for the past 6 months and have been happy with them, I saw the ad online and ordered the French Cut and I am pleased with the response and bright sound, I like the Legere reeds, as they are more consistent to the climate conditions and last longer then the Vandoren Cane reeds that I was using previously, Ordering on line was easy, and I received my Reeds within a week. I have found that the Music Stores in my area don't always carry the Grade of reed I would like, so ordering online is a good option for me.
I long ago embraced Legere reeds as the way of the future. I like the European cut and used it for quite some time but have now switched to the French cut. The sound and response are uniformly excellent, as is the consistency and longevity. As for Legere's customer service, it is second to none. One cannot go wrong by making Legere one's reed of choice.
