A bright and stable reed colored with a full spectrum of overtones. The reed is very responsive and articulate due to its relative thinness versus the Classic. The Signature for Saxophone is the recommended cut for players in solo, classical, or jazz studio settings.

Sop Sax Signature vs American Cut

I've been playing the American cut and like it but thought I'd like to try the Signature.
For the same strength, I think the Signature is slightly easier to play. All things being equal, I'd go up a 1/4 strength for the Signature compared to the American. It also seems more "brattish" than the American cut. My guess is that it would cut through a band with less effort than the American, but overall, I prefer the more nuanced sound of the American cut and suspect it blends better. Both are solid good reeds, depends on the sound you're after. Really hope that Légère puts out a French cut for Sop Sax soon!

Legere hits the mark

Legere reeds work great now with my soprano sax after years using them for my clarinets.

Glad to hear you're enjoying the reed!

Consistent and reliable but

I've been playing a lot more classical soprano sax this year than most years, and this is the reed.ot choice at the theatre and with the orchestra. Consistent response, wonderful roundness in the sound, and best of all stays the same in those pesky environments that the soprano doesn't get played for long periods of time.

Thank you for the thoughtful and detailed review, we appreciate your comments!
