This reed has been working great! I've adjusted some things with my Alto setup so it's always a struggle to get things to click. I gave it an honest 7-10 days of play testing though to get comfortable. Yesterday I went back to my old setup to compare and I can honestly say it was a night and day difference! With the Legere my tone is warm and focused and I really sound great! There is greater response across my horn and more flexibility. My intonation is stronger, my upper register is clearer, and my low notes are smooth and effortless to play. I would recommend to anyone looking to make a switch, to be honest with yourself about what you want to accomplish and adjust. Be patient with the process and give it time. I'm playing Legere reeds on my Alto and Bari (Signature 2.5) and don't anticipate having to change reeds for quite some time! My bari reed is over 1 year old now and still playing great.

After trying 30 cane reeds that didn’t blow well, I gave up and changed to Legere Signature for concert and jazz band. Finally the reed frustration is over! Am also trying a French Cut for concert band mouthpiece and I like the subtle darkness of it.

I purchased the Alto Sax reed to play on the Alto Clarinet. It works amazingly well. I was sold on it with the first note I played. It brought even MORE life to the Alto Clarinet!!
Glad to hear you're enjoying the reed!
My son and I have used these reeds for 4 years now. It is great to know what you are getting every time you open the package no matter the conditions.
Glad to hear you're enjoying the reed!
I have recieved my order of legere signature 3.25 alto reeds , these are my determined strength and what works most efficient and satisfactorily for me with responce, tone, effective playability etc.
i find i have to kind of break them in and rotate a bit , to adjust to them, "not long nothing like cane reeds", also i have found that positioning as to where the reed sits on the mouth piece is very key, also the ligature positioning up or down the table can effect the the tone and responce to your desired effect, if you experiment...
Final note is when you find the right posistion , strength etc.. it is very satifying to have a reed that responds and can give you enjoyment for a "nice long time" to play day after day without the complication of always digging thru a box of canes for your next reed after a few days..
I hope they just get better. synthetic reeds should be the future if they can continue to improve.. excellent canes are very nice , they are just hard and expensive (inconsistent) to come by.. thanks legere please keep improving .. cheers donn
