I have been using Legere Reeds for about 7 years now. It took a well to find the selection that I prefer but I'm happen with the Signature reed for now. It also took a minute for me to choose the right strength so for now I'm using 2.75. I would like to use a 3.0 but I'm not getting any younger. It's so gratifying not to work on a reed for 3 days (a little exaggeration) to play on it in public. I do not leave home without 2 of these reeds in my case.
During this year's band concert our son has a soprano solo dor the opening of the second song... reed plays amazingly well without having to keep wet on the off songs and a couple of musicians commented on how good the sound was. Not to take away from a hs freshman performance, but good equipment matters.
They have just enough resistance to produce a nice, clear tone, and yet plenty of response around the entire range.
Glad to hear you're enjoying the reed!
I was extremely disappointed that the Studio Cut reed was discontinued, but my disappointment was short lived and disappeared immediately when I played the American cut on my horn. The reed is responsive in the extreme, plays all registers well and provides just enough "cut" in the tone to make it interesting. It's a great reed and I now have a new favorite!
We're so thankful for your positive review and are glad you had a great experience!
Working on switching to Legere on my saxophones. So far I am enjoying the playability.
