I've been using the American Cut reeds on both alto and tenor for over 2 years. My first impression was - WOW! This is like the old days when buying a box of cane reeds and finding the one "amazing" reed that played great. Legere reeds have all been great for me - good response and tone over the full range of my horns - even altissimo. I am so happy to have more time playing instead of searching and adjusting. Also, another benefit is being able to switch between alto and tenor with having to be concerned about a cane reed drying out.
I have been playing the American Cut 2.25 on my Alto and have been very impressed with the sound and response. I have been wanting to get my Tenor going again but have always been hesitant because I haven’t been able to play it with the same ease as the alto. I bought the American Cut 2.25 and put it on my Berg Larson 90/1 and it has been playing great with ease and the response I want and expect. I have experimented with many synthetic and cane reeds but I keep coming back to the American Cut for both practice and performances.
I love the tenor sax american cut for bass clarinet better than I like any of the other bass clarinet reeds I've tried (european, classic, and signature)
