E♭ Soprano Clarinet European Cut

Product Info
Profile Map

The most comfortable, stable, and articulate clarinet reed Légère produces. The European Cut for Eb Clarinet is wider than the Classic with a shorter vamp and a band of material down the spine. The reed gives the player the control needed to stand out in a solo performance or blend into the ensemble.

WHY THEY WORK

The secret? A synthetic material unique to Légère, meticulous computer controlled processing operations

and a team of ambitious and hardworking individuals who passionately believe in the Freedom to Perform.

Materials
Design Process

Cane is a unique material—lightweight, yet surprisingly stiff along the grain. That unique combination is what makes it vibrate so well. Reproducing those properties in a synthetic material isn’t easy—but it’s exactly what we’ve done.

Our reeds are made from a special formulation of polypropylene—a non-toxic, food-safe polymer you’ll also find in medical equipment, yogurt cups, and packaging. On its own, polypropylene is far too flexible for a reed. So we strengthen it through a process called orientation, which aligns the polymer fibers to dramatically increase stiffness. That’s the secret to the signature feel and response of a Légère reed.

Because our material doesn’t absorb moisture, Légère reeds don’t need soaking, never warp, and are ready to play right out of the case. They’re durable, hygienic, and can be cleaned easily with warm water and a mild detergent. It’s cane—refined.

The Légère Guarantee

Légère Reeds wants you to be completely satisfied with your purchase.

Everyone can enjoy their Légère reeds if they find their right strength. This is why we are proud to provide an Exchange of Strength Program within 30 days of purchase. If you are unsatisfied with your clarinet or saxophone reed, please begin the exchange process regardless of where you purchased it in the world.

Please be assured returned reeds are discarded after a quality check and are never resold.

Great!

This Eb clarinet reed is working out perfectly for me. I don’t play Eb often, so having a plastic reed is most convenient. I’m currently using it for a musical book, and with switching between instruments, I know this reed will be ready when needed. Highly recommend if you’re in a similar situation. The size chart definitely helped and was accurate comparing my typical Vandoren size with the appropriate Legere size.

Your feedback means a lot to us—thank you for sharing your review!

Perfect for me

I'm an amateur doubler. I now enjoy this amazing performance solution on all my Clarints Eflat C, B flat, A and Bass plus all 4 Saxes -Soprano Alto, Tenor and Bari. These are life changers in terms of quality and consistency and as a Bonus, a Canadian product. I'm so grateful!

Glad to hear you're enjoying the reed!

Tames the beast!

This is the best Eb reed I've ever had! Better than any other cane or synthetic reed, Bb or Eb!

Thank you for your thoughtful review! We're thrilled to know you enjoyed your reed.

An instant improvement in my tone and control!

I was using cane reeds for my Eb soprano, but have been using Legere reeds on my Bb for years. When I started playing my Eb more I decided to try the Legere European cut 3.00 reeds. I wish I hadn't waited so long to switch. I wasn't sure if my Vandoren mouthpiece would be a good fit with the Legeres, but man what a difference in my tone, projection and control! Now if Legere would just make an Alto clarinet specific reed I would be in reed heaven!

Thank you for your thoughtful review! We're thrilled to know you enjoyed your reed.

New, improved

Years ago I tried Legere reeds and really didn’t like them but so many players are using them that I decided to try again. Whatever Legere did to improve them has worked. I like the European and Signature cuts. I have a bass, alto, and B flat. They need different strengths and the two cuts respond differently on the instruments, but in a good way. I’m very happy with the new Legere.

Thank you for the thoughtful and detailed review, we appreciate your comments!
