The Studio cut reed, available for the Alto and Tenor Saxes, offers a warmer sound than that of our Classic reed and is designed for the jazz genre. It plays softer than other Légère reeds and is best suited for players in live environments.

Legere Alto Saxophone Studio Cut Reed

Legere Team,

I just finished my practice with the Legere Alto Saxophone Studio Cut Reed (strength 1.50) and was able to hit all the melodic notes in tune. A reliable reed for all styles of music: funk, jazz, classical, pop, and R&B. Quality and playability is always there when you it most!

Thanks,
Norman Cheng

Soaring Into the Saxophone Stratosphere

I have been using Legere reeds for several years. The Studio Cut are my go to for my Yamaha alto saxophone. They produce a medium-bright sound in the vein of Cannonball Adderley, which is what I am looking for. They are easy to play, and most importantly, durable. I can play on these reeds for a very long time.I also have found they work well with a variety of musical genres including classical, jazz, soul, pop, and rock.

I have tried other brands of synthetic reeds, such as Fibracell and Harry Hartmann Fiberreeds, but Legere comes out on top when it comes to durability. The Hartmann reeds sound very good, but they crack and chip easily. The last Hartmann reed that I bought became unplayable after only two weeks of use. They cost as much as a Legere reeds, but their poor durability makes them a bad bargain.

The Legere alto studio cut reeds will take your sound into the musical stratosphere and give you months of reliable service.

No More Bamboo!

I am no longer held hostage to the vagaries of bamboo reeds. Legere reeds are consistent, responsive and durable!
