from 1969 reviewsThe reeds are working great as usual right out of the box for notes top to bottom.
I am very pleased at the performance of this reed. When playing for a show and my clarinet sits for a period of time, I needed a reed that I could count on to be ready without worry of it drying out. The European Cut is perfect for my needs - responds well in all registers, especially the chalumeau - warm, full sounds.
The European Eb clarinet reed is fantastic!
After a 30 plus year wondering in the wilderness, my return to playing clarinet was greeted with inferior and inconsistent cane reeds. I didn’t want to go back to making my own reeds, so I started trying synthetic reeds. For me the Legere French reeds produced the tonal quality, response, and articulation I used to get from my hand made reeds. Bravo.
I am a believer now with Legere reeds!
I switched from cane to Legere Signature after playing on cane reeds for 50 years. I think it plays as well as my best cane reeds but doesn't need the tricky adjustment and maintenance. They also have a hassle-free exchange program for different strengths and damaged reed tips.
I played with cane reeds for 50 years and switched to Legere Signature this year. I waited because I didn't believe a synthetic reed would allow enough control of tone and dynamics. This reed is great and doesn't require the maintenance and adjustment of a box of cane reeds.
I have had consistently good results with the European Cut 3.0 reeds for clarinet.
I keep getting compliments on my soprano sax tone. Not pitchy and shrill. I thank k Légère for the awesome reeds that let me sound better
Légère reeds are made with such exacting precision that they come in 1/4 strength increments. They perform consistently with no fluctuation due to humidity or drying. Proud of this company. A real Canadian success story from Barrie ON!
My favorite was the American Cut until I tried these! The time is so pure. It is responsive enough that I can enter seamlessly from complete silence, the response to vibrato is beautiful, and there is zero breathy sound or buzzing. It's a beautiful reed.
Wow. I live the smoothness of transition throughout the alto sax range. Plays very free.
I find the French Cut a bit mellower sound than the European cut. I enjoy playing on it.
I used to split bamboo reeds because I play aggressively on gigs. These are way more durable (still split them after 100 hours but better than 3 hours) and even if I do, I can still get through a gig. If it's a long gig, I will alternate them out like you should running shoes.
