Introducing the French Cut, by Légère. A refined, symphonic reed that gives players a richness and stability in tone, without any sacrifice to response. With a profile that has been completely reimagined, the French Cut has been designed for a dark, centered tone that allows for a deep range of emotional expression. The reed is responsive but even, with the perfect amount of resistance.

Easy Playing Reed

I love my new reed for my tenor sax. The reed makes the sound louder and stronger. Easy to play.

Glad to hear you're enjoying the reed!

French Cut equals dark and smooth

I compared French, American and Signature reeds (2.5) on a Jody Jazz Jet mouthpiece , Selmor Axos Tenor. The French cut plays a little stiffer than the others. The sound is very dark, and shall I say ****. I loved the vibe. I can tell you it took some work to get the higher notes to sound, until I got the right embouchure.

Next, to try these on my Jody Jazz HR. This mouthpiece is already pretty dark, so it will be interesting to hear the difference.

We're so thankful for your positive review and are glad you had a great experience!

My preferred reed

I use this with a S90 (170) facing. I prefer it to the signature.

Thanks for the kind review!

Tenor Saxophone American cut 2.0

I have been playing a tenor saxophone about a year now. I used to use regular reeds until I purchased Legere reeds. It is so much easier to play the instrument with Legere reeds. I will try other types of Legere reeds in the future.

Thank you for the thoughtful and detailed review, we appreciate your comments!
