Introducing the French Cut, by Légère. A refined, symphonic reed that gives players a richness and stability in tone, without any sacrifice to response. With a profile that has been completely reimagined, the French Cut has been designed for a dark, centered tone that allows for a deep range of emotional expression. The reed is responsive but even, with the perfect amount of resistance.

Great

I really enjoyed playing on the reeds. Long time since I tried plastic reed, never thought I would again.

Glad I did!

I'm in love with my Legere French Cut reeds

I have been using Legere American Cut reeds on alto sax for a few years and enjoying them (consistency and convenience). When the new French Cut ones came out I was eager to give them a try. I have found them to be an even better fit for me in concert band and jazz. I love them on my alto and also on my tenor sax.

Thank you for the thoughtful and detailed review, we appreciate your comments!

Tenor Saxophone French Cut 2.0 my new favourite reed

I have been using synthetic reeds for a while because they are so much easier to deal with in dry Canadian winters. I got the French Cut 2.0 to use on a Jody Jazz HR*. I had been using American Cut for a few years but am really glad I tried the French Cut because the tone is a little warmer and more what I am looking for. I like softer reeds for the better articulation but sometimes they are
buzzy. This reed gives me the articulation with the tone I am jooking for. It might be my imagination but I feel the French Cut is also a bit more stable when I torture it. I am very pleased with my current combination and have no desire at all to go back to cane.

Thank you for the thoughtful and detailed review, we appreciate your comments!

I have been enjoying the French Cut reeds on my clarinet, so I decided to try one on my bass. I prefer Tenor sax reeds on the bass, and the French Cut tenor sax was just as responsive as my clarinet reeds have been. Nice sound, good projection, and easy articulation. (Légère reeds are the BEST way to get through HS musical season!!)

Thank you for the thoughtful and detailed review, we appreciate your comments!

French cut tenor reeds

I give them 5 stars.. but the 2.25 is too weak, could I get a 2.50 to replace it?

Glad to hear you're enjoying the reed! You can submit an exchange at www.legere.com/exchanges
