The most comfortable, stable, and articulate clarinet reed Légère produces. The European Cut for Eb Clarinet is wider than the Classic with a shorter vamp and a band of material down the spine. The reed gives the player the control needed to stand out in a solo performance or blend into the ensemble.

Makes playing much easier

I had been fighting with my Eb clarinet, especially in the altissimo register. I tried several mouthpiece, barrel, ligature and reed combinations and as a last ditch effort shortly before a concert, ordered Backun Vocalise mouthpieces and a bunch of Euro legere reeds. I found that the 3.75 Euro worked best on the G mouthpiece, which allowed the altissimo notes to come out clearly and no longer strained. Articulation is easy and I have a good dynamic range. Pretty happy with this purchase.

Thank you for the thoughtful and detailed review! Glad you're enjoying the reeds for all clarinets!

Worth the try

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Eb soprano European Cut clarinet reeds work as well as the Bb clarinet reeds. Almost all of the notes respond well, even the upper register. I am very happy with them.

Great Reed

I love the reed. It plays so much better than a cane reed on my Eb. I don’t have to worry about it chipping or cracking down the middle while playing. 10/10

Thanks for the kind review!

Made for the Eb!

This reed is bright, has clear intonation, and really helps the Eb sing above the rest of my wind ensemble without sounding screechy. Even just tooting a couple notes with this reed, it was obvious to me that the synthetic material was made for an Eb.
