The American Cut represents the next-generation of Légère saxophone reeds. From the first note, the reed speaks with total ease while giving players just the right amount of tonal edge. It is effortlessly free-blowing, colorful, and loaded with personality.

The American Cut’s distinct profile is what gives players a full, clear low register and vibrant altissimo.

Plays great

Bright and responsive. I bought another version years ago and it was fantastic. Then I bought a replacement and it was a dud. Decided to try one again after several years of cane reeds and this one is spot on. I also ordered an additional reed up a quarter strength to test out as the 3 was just a touch too soft. But the strength comparison chart does seem accurate.

Thanks for the thoughtful and detailed review!

caught between two strengths. signature 2.25 and 2.5
the 2.25 i prefer but it dies after two weeks or so

Best Sax reed ever!

Leger reeds provide wonderful consistency. It’s so great to be able to pick up my horn and play, without having to go through the process of wetting and a
waiting for conventional reeds. Performance is so much more reliable!

Thank you for the kind and thoughtful review!

I play on an Otto Link FL STM 6* and i could never get a consistent sound until now, with the American Cut Légère reed, playing like butter is an understatement, only downside is I need to get one for my alto now!

Glad you're enjoying the reeds!

Bettina Brown (Cobourg, CA)
Finally I can use these!

It took me a while to build the embouchure up to use the Légère reeds, tried it on an alto first, works really well, and from my first tenor practicing it seems great there, too.

Thanks for the review!
