Used my primary Legere Signature during first half of rehearsal and switched to this back up reed half way through. Worked great. Used the primary reed for the concert though. No issues with either. Just trying to extend the life of the reeds.
Love that I could use it right away with little to no break-in time. Sounds good and strong!
So far, I think they’re great. I’m an intermediate alto player (I don’t play enough to get better) focusing mostly on guitar and piano. What I was hoping for was to be able to place a reed on my mouthpiece and play, and these reeds are allowing me to do just that. I purchased one Signature and one French cut, both 2.25, to try. I like them both but prefer the tone of the French Cut a little more. Not that the Signature is too bright, but the French Cut is a little more mellow sounding.
The Signature reeds have proven to be a clear advantage over other options and cane reeds. The exchange program is a great way for everyone to dial in the sound they are looking for! I tried a new cut for marching band but really didn't like the sound on my Tenor so I switched to the same reeds for both Tenor and Alto sax. Being able to go from concert band practice to marching in the rain this season has been great. Not having to deal with faster rotations of cane reeds and keeping them wet has allowed for other free time and focused practice time.
This reed is really responsive, it has good articulation, and it sounds beautiful.
