This Reed Gives Me a Performance Edge

After a long break as a player, I'm re-learning the alto sax. I began with the cane reeds of my youth, but struggled to produce a reliable sound, especially as I needed to change reeds periodically. Each one differed substantially. At my music teacher's suggestion, I tried the Legere Studio reed and found the 2.25 strength the perfect companion for me and my developing embouchure. I really appreciate a reed with such low maintenance requirements, relative to cane. In essence, the Legere synthetic eliminates a constant variable (the cane reed), and that is helping me focus better on my playing.
