A thick reed most appropriate for a traditional or classical setup. The Classic for Clarinet has a thicker tip than other Légère clarinet reeds and is designed to produce a darker sound. This reed is recommended for beginners though it is appreciated by advanced players seeking a darker sound.

I use Legere reeds for all of my play test mouthpieces. I don't have to spend bench time soaking reeds to play test. Just grab and go.

Not the right reed for me

I’m a complete Légère convert for Bb, Eb clarinets and sop sax. I’ve settled into happiness zones for my Bb Cl (French cut 3.0) but am still experimenting with the Eb and sop sax. I am currently playing on an Eb Euro 3.25, and am pretty happy with it but was curious about whether the Classic would have a different sound. I took advantage of the 10% off sale to order a 3.0 classic, but for me it was very much too thick - I could hardly make a sound. Compared to my 3.25 Euro cut, this 3.0 Classic feels as if I’m playing a #5 reed or something! I had wondered if it was a faulty batch, so sent the batch number to Sean at Légère, who kindly looked into it to make sure it was not a quality control issue. It doesn't seem to be. So I guess this is just the wrong reed for me. I'll continue to use the Euro 3.25, and will look forward to the French cut.
