I find myself using these reeds more and more as time goes by. They are especially helpful for removing the need to saturate and work-in a reed in order to practice (this easily adds 10-15 or so minutes of direct practice time for me since I don’t have to wait for the cane to warmup too).
I have been using legere reeds exclusively for four or five years. I use the on baritone and bass sax, as well as bass, contra alto and contrabass clarinets. I frequently play two or more of the above in a single concert. Sometimes a horn and Reed sits on a stand for am hour before it's song comes up. Legere let's me go from horn to horn without warming them up or worring that my Reed is going to dry out or warp. Just pick up the horn and the first note is perfect every time. And despite the cost of one Reed, I get a good one every time. No more buying 10 to find that one half decent cane Reed. I get about a year out of each Reed playing 3 to 4 hours a week.
When It’s time to play Legere reeds are always ready to go.
Glad to hear you're enjoying the reed!
I've been playing Legere reeds for 12 years it more. Alto 2.75 American, tenor 2.75 signature, baritone 2.25 signature. The strengths are accurate. The tone is nice and round with easy articulation. None of the problems that used to be a big part of playing saxophone!
Thank you for the thoughtful and detailed review, we appreciate your comments!
I've been using Légère signature reeds on my baryton sax for the last 5 years. I've never found any thing better.
Glad to hear you're enjoying the reed!
