He is a Colombian Clarinetist with a Bachelor in Musical Education with emphasis in Clarinet from Universidad Pedagógica de Colombia and a Masters in Clarinet Performance from Simon Bolivar University in Caracas, Venezuela under the guidance of Héctor Pinzón and Luis Rossi. Fredy Pinzón is a professor of clarinet at the Universidad de Caldas in Colombia. He has participated in the faculty and recitalist of many Clarinet festivals in Latin America in countries such as Colombia, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Bolivia, Portugal, Ecuador, USA and Uruguay. In the year 2008 participated with the Cuarteto Colombiano de Clarinetes in the European Clarinet Festival in Gent, Belgium. Mr. Pinzon was a member of the Simon Bolivar Symphonic Band in Caracas from 2007 until 2009. In the years 2006 and 2016 was awarded the first prize of the national youth competition organized by the Bogota Philharmonic which allowed him to play as a soloist with the ensemble in 2007 and 2017. In 2007 Mr. Pinzon participated in a tour in Mexico performing Messian’s Quartet for the end of times with the famed Colegio del Cuerpo from Cartagena, Colombia. Member of the Youth Orchestra of the Americas from the year 2003 until 2005 giving concerts in the most important concert halls in the Americas including Carnegie Hall in New York and Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires. Mr Pinzon has participated in many masterclasses with Jorge Montilla and Valdemar Rodriguez.
