Ademir Junior

Brazilian Saxophonist

Brazil

I found at Legere Reeds the comfort and balance necessary to carry out work for long periods and with continued results. The sound quality and projection is surprising and shows a profound technological advance that perfectly meets the organic part connected to the mouthpiece and in contact with the mouth.

Ademir mixes jazz improvisation with the riches of Brazilian music.

A standout in Brazilian instrumental music and a master of improvisation, multi-instrumentalist, arranger and composer Ademir Junior is among the best saxophonists today. Self-taught on the saxophone has contributed to the history of the instrument in Brazil, popularizing the technical possibilities, with each interpretation being popular of the saxophone an extension of his erudite knowledge. He is the first Brazilian jazz saxophonist to become an artist at Selmer, the largest saxophone brand in the world.

He has performed and recorded with Chris Potter, John Patitucci, Bob Mintzer, Paquito D'Rivera, Hermeto Pascoal, Mat'nalia, João Bosco, Roberto Menescal, Rosa Passos, Alexandre Pires, João Donato, Ed Motta, Hamilton de Holanda etc. He is the writer of the book “Caminhos da Improvisação” released in 2018.
